With plenty of updates and moving parts, Jake Sullivan, President Biden’s national security adviser, on Friday in Washington said that they now believe with a high probability that Russia could invade Ukraine within the next week. Also saying that the White House and all National Security elements can not predict a day even, that it could come at any point, even before the end of the Olympics. Jake Sullivan said in an interview:“The way they have built up their forces, the way they have maneuvered things in place, makes it a distinct possibility that there will be major military action very soon,” and continued to say “We are prepared to continue to work on diplomacy, but we are also prepared to respond in a united and decisive way with our allies and partners should Russia proceed.”

  • The theory is that if Russia was to invade, they would wait until around the second week of February at least so that the ground could be completely frozen over and easier to maneuver troops, tanks, and other equipment needed for a full-scale invasion.

  • Over 40 countries have told all their citizens to leave Ukraine immediately and to not wait, that an invasion is imminent.

  • Russia has accused the United States of operating a submarine in the Kuril Islands early Saturday morning and claims that they ordered the submarine to surface immediately. Upon the request, Russia Claims that the submarine dove to deep levels and gained "maximum speed" to flee the area. The Unites States Navy has denied such claims.

  • All major airlines that operate in the area are either redirecting their planes to other countries or outright cancelling all flights to and from Kiev. Ukraine says their airways are still and will continue to stay open. Ukraine has announced the creation of a $592m fund to guarantee the continuation of flights through its airspace, Reuters reports.

  • President Joe Biden spoke at length with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the United States support no matter what to Ukraine. Adding that "the United States would respond swiftly and decisively, together with its allies and partners, to any further Russian aggression against Ukraine”.

  • Ukraine has received a shipment of Stinger anti-aircraft missile systems and ammunition by plane from Lithuania, the defense ministry in Kyiv said.

  • German President said that Europe "is on the brink of war" right after he was elected to a second 5 year term. He also stated that "the people Ukraine have the right to live in peace without the fear of Russia."

  • As a result of the complex operational environment linked to Russia’s unwarranted aggression against Ukraine, the Canadian Armed Forces is in the process of temporarily relocating components of Joint Task Force – Ukraine (JTF-U) to elsewhere in Europe

Along with the build-up on the borders of Ukraine and Belarus, there is also a blockade being set and built up by Russian Naval ships. Russia has issued a notice warning to aviators and vessels to stay a significant distance away from the Black Sea and Sea of Azov due to "live-fire training in the following week". This has been criticized by several nations as a cover for a Naval Blockade.

As a note–Russia very heavily outnumbers Ukraine in pretty much every category and number as far as numbers and equipment.

February 8, 2022: Operations that spanned from February 1st to February 6th led to the deaths of many Islamic extremists in Mali. These operations were executed jointly by French and Malian forces.Destruction came swiftly to the militants and the resources they utilized. Explosives, weapons, and motorbikes were all destroyed in the action that took place. The day after operations ceased, appointed Interim Prime Minister Choguel Maiga went on a verbal offensive against the actions taken by the French military. Maiga made the unambiguous assertion that division and espionage were actions taken by the French. He went on to state “We cannot be turned into vassals…You cannot enslave the country. That is over.” Obvious resentments were not echoed by the French, as the French army ministry stated that operations in the region showed the efficacy of the combat partnership between the Malian army and European task forces.

3 Pakistani Drug Smugglers Gunned Down

BSF personnel displays narcotics recovered from three Pakistani smugglers who were shot dead by alert troops along the border, in the Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir, Sunday, Feb. 06, 2022

February 6, 2022: Three Pakistani intruders were gunned down on February 6 by the BSF as it scuttled a major narcotic smuggling attempt and recovered 36 kg heroin worth crores of rupees along the International Border in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

This was the fourth narcotic smuggling bid foiled by the BSF troops along the border this year, while a total of nine Pakistani intruders were eliminated in various such attempts in the past one year, Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF), Jammu frontier, D.K. Boora said.

“We had a very good operation the previous night when the alert troops eliminated a narcotic smuggling attempt from Pakistan. The smugglers tried to take advantage of the darkness and foggy conditions to smuggle the huge quantity of narcotics into this side,” Dr. Boora, who rushed to the border outpost Bainglar where his troops made the biggest recovery this year, told reporters.

Displaying the seized items, he said the surveillance equipment picked up the movement of the smugglers and accordingly the troops on the forward duty points were alerted.

Iranian Nuclear Talks Continue

Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri and IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh walk during the unveiling of “Kheibarshekan” missile at an undisclosed location in Iran, in this picture obtained on February 9, 2022.

Negotiations aimed at reviving the 2015 Iran nuclear deal restarted in Vienna this week, more than ten months after they first began and weighed down by yet more uncertainty and mutual distrust.

And time is of the essence. With each passing week, Iran’s nuclear capabilities grow, making a return to a deal less and less likely.

“Our talks with Iran have reached an urgent point,” White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters on Wednesday.

“A deal that addresses the core concerns of all sides is in sight. But if it’s not reached in the coming weeks, Iran’s ongoing nuclear advances will make it impossible for us to return to the JCPOA,” she said, referring to the agreement’s formal name, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

In 2018, the administration of former President Donald Trump unilaterally ditched the deal – which had lifted economic sanctions on Iran in exchange for curbs to its nuclear program. Since then, Tehran has made significant progress in terms of its nuclear activity, increasing uranium enrichment and stockpiles far beyond the parameters of the 2015 agreement.

In need of economic relief, Iran agreed to engage in six rounds of indirect talks revived by the Biden administration between April and June of 2021. Since then, there has been to agreement or articles formulated to re-sign a peace treaty relating to Nuclear Armament.

Atlas News App as of February 1, 2022

Well here we are. Zucked again. This time it seems like it’s because of ‘security reasons', cited as verifying our account. We’ve submitted lots of documents, articles of formation etc. Hopefully, we get Atlas.News2 back within a few days once our account has been reviewed. We are working diligently, as many of you are waiting to see if “the post” comes.

But in every setback, there is a line in the sand. It’s been a while since we have been zucked, and we passed the 200k mark. The regulatory ban hammer has been less consistent since we have formulated and incorporated Atlas and connected it to business assets within Facebook. The 200k mark is incredible as it marks the 2nd time, we have made that milestone. But none of that matters if we keep getting censored for simply reporting the news.

All of this is just a good reminder that what we are developing behind the scenes, is needed. And your support is the reason we are doing it. That’s why we are working so hard on the website and app. And boy, is it good.  Not only do we have a team of developers behind these projects, we have had a plethora of you reaching out asking how to help. Eventually, we would love to bring some readers, who have experience, on as support roles and help write. But that’s tabled for the future for now.

Here is where we are at:

Website: about 99% complete. There is some account-related housekeeping that we are working on to make sure writing and publishing articles is smooth and easy. The design is completed and looks great. A hybrid of traditional and new-age format. Of course, we will be adding more as we go in the future (podcasts, topic-based newsletters, merch etc.) But for now, it accomplishes our main focus: easy writing, easy reading, and no censorship. We own our content. No ban hammer, no censorship. You’ll be getting raw Atlas News for the first time in a while. Super pumped to see your guy’s feedback.

App: the bread and butter of our business in the future to come. The main area most of you will spend your time on. Obviously, you know a little about the app. But the more we see it come together, the more excited we get. This changes the game and really sets us apart from other social-media based news companies as we will no longer have to worry about being shut down. We own our content. The app gives us the ability to send notifications directly to your phone, at the push of a button. You can pick and choose what topics you want to follow, etc. And moreover, we can bring some unparalleled features to the app, like podcasts you can listed to in app (and spotify, apple etc). You will also be able to save posts and read them offline, share to social media, subscribe to newsletters and Atlas related notifications, career opportunities, etc.

Overall, we have our teams working on website and app development, with the goal of launching March 1st. And after the recent ban, and whats going on in the world, we are excited to get this launched and relieve some of the anxiety of wondering if the Instagram is alive. Aside from moving off platform, we are looking forward to hearing your feedback on the website/app and what you all want added.

That being said, thanks for always supporting. Atlas.News3 is now over 100k, and support has never been higher. This is only the beginning. Stay tuned.
